WordPatch actually reimplements most of the WordPress API (see: What is my rescue script and why do I need one?). In order to protect your privacy, WordPatch does not read cookies created by WordPress, themes, or plugins. Logging in a second time allows us to create your own authentication cookie that is private to WordPatch’s session. If you are simply accessing the WordPatch rescue script directly, you will only be required to login once.
